Spacegoat are an alternative metal band hailing from Bendigo, Australia.
Musically they infuse several metal sub-genres and have been likened to Flyleaf, Tool, Faith No More, Deftones, The Butterfly Effect and Halestorm, however Spacegoat really do manage to create a sound that is uniquely theirs. The five members have a synergy that shines through the songs and is particularly evident when they take to the stage, with the band’s performances having been described as “energetic and infectious.”
Their debut EP '33' was released in February of 2019 and was met with positive reviews from punters and publications alike. It initiated significant momentum for Spacegoat and a string of live shows were lined up, before the global pandemic came to crash the party.
What the pandemic didn’t halt though, was Spacegoat’s song writing mojo, and with gigs off the table for an indefinite period, they knuckled down to bring 'Catharsis' to life. This second EP features 6 tracks and is a testament to the growth Spacegoat continues to strive for, both as individual musicians and as a band.
'Catharsis' saw the release of two singles in 2021, 'Miasma' and 'Dirty Fighter', both of which received excellent feedback, and 'Catharsis' itself was released on October 8th, 2021, with two lyric videos ('Purge' and 'Anemnesis') surprise drops on the same date.
2022 is seeing a return to stages for Spacegoat as well as new releases scheduled for the second half of the year.
